Ramipril & Covid-19

Someone sent an article from a newspaper yesterday that described certain ACE inhibitors and Ramipril was mentioned as they can make the symptoms of Covid-19 much worse. Do others subscribe to this or have anyone been told by their GP or hospital to stop taking Ramipril if they have Covid-19 or its symptoms?

Thanks

Please see the article link below from the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust which says "There is no sound scientific basis or evidence to support this speculation and, based on all the current evidence, we advise all patients who have been prescribed these medications to continue taking them unless they are specifically advised to stop by their medical team."

Thanks for the info. As I don’t buy any newspaper for obvious reasons, I do wonder sometimes how they’re allowed to report on such medical matters where they’ve spun the facts in-order to sell more newspapers.

The government and other funders are fast tracking research applications into Covid 19.

I expect there will be one looking at the issue of certain heart drugs and how it effects an individual's recovery from Covid 19.
