Sign up for Goodsam

I thought I sign up as someone to chat volunteer, with Goodsam, as I do love to chat. Filled in form, had email to say congratulation you are a first responder. At first I thought that what we would be called, read on telling me what I had to do. Shock for some reason I've been put in first responder, one I would never be able to get to the floor as I'm disable, the ambulance would turn up and they would have to pick me up. Will have to ring them tomorrow, to be put in right group.

I'm still waiting to hear back but I volunteered to be a phone volunteer too.

I imagine they are having such a good response from the public they're having some teething pains sorting everyone into the right slot. If I were told I was slotted in as a first responder I'd find it hilarious but I have a strange sense of humour.

Any road, well done you and LettingOffSteam for volunteering - you're in the system and they'll get it sorted so you wonderful ladies can start easing the loneliness soon.

Spoke with nhs volunteers apparently they have used the rapid responder app has it was the quickest thing to use. I said to the lovely lady, that I had images of trying to get down to help someone. She said they have been able to modify.

I signed up for a similar reason. I just want to be a chat telephone responder as I am a vulnerable person. At first they said they couldn’t clear my driving licence details but the picture I sent wasn’t too clear so it was obvious why so I resubmitted the application and it is now in the process stage again. I am hoping to help those who are lonely or isolated as, when I had my emergency bypass last year I was in a similar position isolation and know first hand how horrid it can be and would like to help where possible.
