My son went to our local shops for me about an hour ago.

Crazy ! However why are the Supermarkets letting it happen? Surely they can have a max of 2 or even 1 of any product for a while until everyone has had a fair chance . How about and only if they have a store card ? I am so sorry for all those poor souls who can't get even the basic items because of greedy

Shoppers.

Most supermarkets have put in restrictions on how many of each item you can buy, but some are getting round that by having a trolley for each eg mum, dad and two kids = four trolleys, go through tills separately and have say eight lots of each product instead of the two allowed. Others are going back every day or even taking one load through tills, putting it in car and then going back in to the store. It’s just pure greed, ignorance and selfishness. I’m still working full time, as is my husband, and by the time we can get to the shops the shelves are empty. Latest panic buy is pet food. I have six cats and can only buy two boxes at a time, if they have any, that will last them four days 😡

I'm really sorry to hear that :( this is why I think there should be more measures put in place. The current arrangements clearly don't work. I really hope you get what you need soon.

Thank you but I believe I’ll be alright with the generous support that has sprung up in my neck of the woods. I likewise hope we’ll all get through it healthily.

Friends told us on Thursday that while the bigger supermarkets were practically bare that at mid day their local Budgen's was well stocked.

Other friends had been for a ten mile walk in Yorkshire and came across a remote little pub with a roaring fire and enjoyed a pint. They commented to the landlady that their daughter had texted that she could even not find any dog food locally.

She said .. ‘We have a shop out the back and have all those and toilet rolls too’, she said. So we went out to the village shop, which had to be unlocked for us, and got some dog food but also tins of baked beans and tinned tomatoes, coffee, wine and toilet rolls, all of which have gone from Tesco."

Strange being out of Wine but my Friday Ocado order was only missing two things, Long Life Milk and a Malbec Wine that had been on offer. Usually when out of my usual one they put in a substitute .
