What Type Of Soap

As a fellow heartie I am taking as many precautions that I can regarding the Coronavirus outbreak. My question is we have been told repeatedly that we must wash our hands as often as we can - can we use any hand soap or does it have to be one that is antibacterial?

Any soap - it's a virus not at bacteria according to my know it all friends ;) so antibacterial not really necessary. The above article takes you through it. Interesting that temperature of water doesn;t make a difference.

Any soap will do - apparently it removes the outer “shell” of the virus and it then dies. I now have a bar of soap for hand washing.

Just use any soap with water, wash your hands and wrists too. Water does not need to be hot either. Just make sure it is thorough. Take care all of us!

Hi RAS53. Any soap will do. Just remember to rub the lather between fingers and around the thumbs and use running water that goes straight down the plug hole!! My 2 little grandchildren aged 4 and 2 are brilliant at hand washing now (and singing happy birthday over and over again while they're washing their hands!!).

Take good care of yourself. xxxx
