Omron make good BP monitors. I have an Omron M6 comfort which is the same model my GPs use.

I second Judge_Dredd's Omron suggestion. I got mine at Boots and once a year they calibrate it so it stays accurate (small fee well worth the cost to know my BP readings are accurate).

Also take it with me twice a year to the GP or cardiology appointments to be sure both units are in agreement. Bonus - I do not have 'white coat syndrome', my BP at home is the same as at the doctor's.

You're lucky - I still have 'white coat syndrome'. Having been into a NHS premises over 100 times last year I would have thought that it would have decreased , but no still with me!

With your visit count, your WCS could be increased rather than decreased - you know what to expect and that expectation may not always be happy.

I'm surprised I don't seem to have it now - I used to. I'm really not sure why, I just know my BP at home just before leaving for the appointment, and then my BP when the nurse takes a reading, agree completely. I wonder if for me it's a bonus plus from the Bisoprolol, maybe.

I went from never been ill prior to December 2018 to almost living in the NHS.

I wasn't surprised by WCS at the start as I was finding it all stressful, but after 9 months of consultants/doctors/nurses/consultants et al, I had become increasing unconcerned by it all except while I felt OK, WCS was still busy stalking me! Strange

Omron M3 Comfort - good make, very reliable. Doctors and cardio rehab staff use them

If you are looking for a wrist / wearable BP monitor Omron have a watch called Heartguide which costs about Ā£500! It has had FD clearance in the US other supposed wrist /watch BP monitors havenā€™t had medical clearance!

I was warned by 2 separate GPs not to buy a wrist BP monitor as they are not reliable. I use an Omron M2 basic, not expensive, has a heart rate monitor too. The only problem I had with it was when I went into SVT and the hear rate said malfunction which given that it was measured at 210 bpm by a nurse (by hand) 15 minutes later was not surprising!
