I’m still trying to get some answers so I have been looking at my discharge notes which state Echocardiography shows post PCI LV Function at LVEF>50. I’m still awaiting a consult with cardiologist to ask him many questions but while I’m waiting can anyone explain the above?
Thanks very much in advance R x

This is sometimes confusing. Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction is the amount of blood that’s pushed around the body in each cycle. So the ideal isn’t 100%. In fact that would be very bad! Normal range starts around 55% and the measurement is so approximate that over 50% is good news.
Thank you. I was slightly concerned as I didn’t know what the 50 was out of! I assumed it was a percentage so thought 50 didn’t sound too good as only half as what it could be...if you get what I mean! 🤷♀️
I was told by a Radiologist Dr this week that EF is approximately +-5% as it has been said on here before they draw a line around the ventricle and do the measurement all a little crude, his words not mine.
MRI is a little bit more accurate but only by a very small margin !!!
