I had a pacemaker and av node ablation for AF about 4 weeks ago as my heart rate was constantly high in spite of maximum dose of Bisopralol. I still feel very tired and can sleep for 2-3 hours during the day as well as a normal nights sleep. Is this normal ? I’d like to add that due to high heart rate had not been eating well and lost a lot of weight over the last 6 months. Could it be my body trying to recover from all that or could it be something serious. I’m now on 2.5 Bisopralol only. I have not posted on AF alliance part of Health Unlocked cos not enough people seem to answer there. I have a pacemaker check in 4 weeks time. Others seem to recover immediately after pm implant. I’m an 87 year old female. Any answers would be welcome.

Hi, I had a pacemaker fitted for complete heart block I'm on meds for heart failure, the pace maker didn't make me feel any better, I'm 53. Good luck
It could be the settings on your pacemaker. I had mine fitted as I got complete heart block after my heart surgery and afterwards I got very out of breath easily and tired. At my check up they tweaked my settings and it made such a difference. You could give your pacemaker clinic a ring and speak to them if you don’t want to wait until your appointment.
