Hi. I had pretty vivid dreams and nightmares (which certainly did test my stent) after my heart attack 3 years ago. I eventually got used to the meds and after lowering my statin dosage (after 2 years) and cutting out other drugs after 12 months I now dream ‘normally’. It would be worthwhile talking to your doctor or cardio nurse about this - especially if they’re giving you spasms. For example, Atorvastatin (if that’s the trigger) can be taken at any time of day as long as it’s the same time. Other meds like Bisoprolol and Ramipril can be taken in the evening (and there’s evidence that this has better outcomes than taking in the morning). Moving things around might help as might changing some of the meds for others that are similar. Might take a bit of time to work out which one/s are causing the issue. And lastly 5 weeks post heart attack and stent is really early days. Remember to be kind to yourself and taken it easy.

I always suspected Atorvastatin was giving me nightmares. But as I wasn’t having any other side effects I didn’t do anything about it. It’s not a notified side effect but there are some articles about the relationship. As you’re going to the doc on the 14th you could ask about taking Atorvastatin in the morning. That might help. Hope you get it sorted soon. Take care.
