Internal tremors/quivers

A GP sent me to A and E when I said I am suffering from ache in the centre of chest and feel shaky/trembling and exhausted. Sleeping 12 hrs daily and heaviness on chest. Extremities very cold as well. ECG was normal and FBC and troponin was fine so sent home. I have booked to see my GP end of January so I am going to ask if I can have my bloods tested before then. What should I ask for to rule out other heart issues? ( BNP/ferritin?) . I am 50 with type 1 diabetes, hypertension , and multiple sclerosis (on immunosuppressant). I had echo cardio last feb which showed EF 55% as I was suffering from palpitations but my symptoms are getting worse and it's not anxiety as it's been going on for weeks/months. I am on Perindopril 4mg, atorvastatin 40mg, bisoprolol 1.25 for palpitation and levothroxine for underactive Thyroid. So tired of feeling exhausted.Thanks.

Hi Mollypet, as you have an underactive thyroid your dose of levithyroxine may be too low. Ask for vitamin B12, folate and vitamin D3 to be checked as well, as low or borderline levels can cause problems. There is information on b12 and other deficiencies on the nhs website, and on other healthunlocked forums.

Best wishes.

My first reaction also was to say get your thyroid checked. Too low a dose can cause the tiredness

Hi Mollypet, I’m only on 10mg of atorvaststin & haven’t had any adverse reactions to it. It does sound like your thyroid med dosage is the one to be looking at. 🤞🏻 It all gets sorted.

I found bisoprolol very good for my Atrial Fibrillation problem. I could immediately "feel" it having a dampening effect on my rapid heart beat.

With Perindopril, I was happy to trust my doctor that it was having a beneficial effect, but I couldn't "feel" any difference.

Bisoprolol has severe side effects for some people, it did me. Exhausted, tired, cold hands and feet, runny nose etc. Its the cheapest so prescribed first. There are alternatives. If you didn't feel like that before its a side effect of drugs. Good luck.
