Brilliant Session with Cardiac Nurse!

Wow! Had a 2 hour session with the cardiac nurse today (3 weeks after HA) It helped so much. She’s sorted my rehab classes (first talk this Thursday, first exercise session 23rd) She answered all my questions and explained what happened and why and really put my mind at ease. I feel so lucky to have received/be receiving this amazing aftercare. ❤️NHS!

Yes, found them to be excellent, too! You're going to enjoy the rehab sessions!

I just wish more people would make use of this service - apparently a lot of them never bother, and they're not doing themselves any favours. The rehab is there to help you gradually get back on your feet, will improve your post HA quality of life AND, most importantly, your longevity - because, as they'll most likely reinforce in the sessions, being active builds a stronger, healthier heart.

Hi Flitchick

Great to hear of your positive experience with the NHS would you mind just sharing what part of the country you are in ( no names etc ) just the Trust you are under. It makes a huge difference to your treatment. I am in Dorset and Care is Pretty Good not Perfect but still Pretty Good.

Regards

I’m in Bedfordshire, treated at Bedford hospital. The level of support I’ve had Is way above expectations.

I had my first meeting with a cardio nurse a few weeks back. One year after my HA? I have recently changed my GP and at last things are looking up. I’ve been for a stress test and just waiting for results.
