Hi all been told surgeon will make contact early January for elective surgery on aorta repair and at least a triple bypass just wondering how long till surgery approx ? Anyone?

I think the wait time depends on your area and your surgeon (and cardiologist cardiac team) sense of urgency regarding your specific current state of health.

When he/she makes contact with you, he/she will likely give you an idea of wait time. If it seems long, be sure to ask if you can be put on the cancellation queue list - placement on that list isn't always automatic (depends on the surgeon's usual way of doing things and doesn't always include even thinking about the cancellation queue).

In 2018 my appointment with the surgeon was 26/4 and my (cancellation appt. accepted) surgery 14/8. I agree with Sunny2day that this changes with time of year/surgeon/hospital/ urgency, among many other reasons!
