Hi. Yes this is great news. Normal ejection fraction starts at 55% so you’re well on the way in terms of progress. Also to say that you don’t need to be aiming for 100%. The fraction relates to the amount of blood that is ejected from your heart around your body in each cycle. Hope you have a great 2020.

Hi Catlovermo2

Yes going from 20% to 30% is good news. The echo I understand has a tendency to underestimate the EF number while the MRI overestimates it, so once you've had the MRI you should have a better idea of what you're EF is.

However, the medics aren't really bothered too much about EF, what really matters is how the patient is doing, what symptoms they have etc - here's the description of the 4 classes of heart failure:-

This is really good news if your injection fraction is increased somewhat. I was told recently could take six months for a year to improve if it does. It is also important as well depending if you need any operation or the medicines you receive the correct dose and having your heart regularly checked but this is surely good news happy New Year

Hi, I had 4 ha’s in 2.5years and left with heart failure at 53. I too had low fever but unlike you it didn’t improve for months. Medication built it up to 35 after some time. In April 2018 I had an ICD fitted after some tests and I can say that overnight it changed my life. It also paces and so therefore I have more energy now and am doing the things I have always loved ie; cycling (electric), swimming and also walking my dogs nearly as far as I used to. A lot of the recovery from anything serious is in the state of your mind, try to stay positive and look ahead not back. Good luck with your procedure and I hope you have a change in your life too! Take care, Ness
