Hey All
Feeling so tired and sleepy 💤 over the last few days, everything feels so much harder to do; actually I feel drained 😑 any thoughts?

Hi, You don't say what medication if any you are on. I find that my heart meds. slow me down, feel tired, don't sleep well since starting on these tablets for A Fib.
Hi thanks I’m on Bisplodgrel, Asprin and a stomach settler sorry to hear you seem to be in the same boat Merry Christmas
Hi Marie,
Bisoprolol is a beta blocker and this will slow you down. The objective should be to minimise the dosage until it just does the job of lowering the stress on your heart, but not to the point where your quality of life is severely diminished due to lack of energy....liaise with your consultant to try and minimise the dosage.
Good luck
Hi Colourblue,
I was diagnosed with Afib and initially I was put on Sotalol which was like a chemical cosh, didn't suit me at all....the idea of Afib meds should be to get you back into sinus rhythm, not make you feel worse!
I changed to Flecainide which put me back into sinus rhythm and all my energy returned, if your ticker is working properly you should have more energy.
You must work with your consultant to get the right meds for you, but you must give them feedback and not just accept what they prescribe.
Good luck
Hi Marie looking back at your posts you have battled long term illness and surgery only a couple of months ago. Perhaps it's a combination of building up your strength? combined with possible effects of medication and of course the time of year can make you feel stressed? with additional pressures. What's your gut feel don't hesitate to see GP get medical opinion if you think your exhausted feeling is over the top despite what you are going through. Have you had bloods done recently etc. Sorry can't say more but take care give in at times and sleep relax etc. I remember when my Sister had a bowel resection and ovary removed due to long term undiagnosed endo and it took her months to gain strength. All best
I agree...ensure you go to your doc, tell him whats happening and hopefully he will order up more blood tests. If you have no anaemia or any other similar issue, it may just be a matter of time, and doing more than you think you are doing, which can casue exhaustion.
Hi Nathan thanks for your reply you could be absolutely right I will make an appointment after to Christmas to see the Doctor about feeling so tired I have had bloods done and I am waiting on results but perhaps they need to link this to my tiredness. I have heart condition and endo which isn’t a great combination but I like to stay positive and keep smiling. I was supposed to have bowel resection but the consultants thought it was too risky at this stage. Best wishes to your sister. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Hi I have been the same, my doctor did blood tests and found I needed iron tablets twice a day. I have been eating more sugar with the excuse it is giving me more energy. Xx good luck
Good morning Marie and merry Christmas to you. For me the bottom line is your/we're here and to me that is such a bonus. Enjoy.
Moving on, I had my HA back on March and for some weeks after was absolutely drained and exhausted (I know it shouldn't have come as a surprise but having been relatively fit and full of life before it was very hard to accept) after some weeks of this I spoke to the cardiac rehabilitation team who arranged for my bisoporal to be reduced then stopped. Whilst this helped a lot it didn't stop me having days of complete fatigue. I work three days a week (my choice as I love my job working with special needs children) I'm finding I still get days when fatigue takes over. I've learnt to accept this as and whenever I'm having a low day I accept it's much better than the alternative. Take care, onwards and upwards!
Please Marie, enjoy life to full.with the.base line of 'listen to your body' . Late on a Christmas night on a day I wasn't sure if see so have enjoyed even more than normal. X
