High blood pressure and African-Caribbean women

Hello, I am a new member and I have high blood pressure. I would like to find more information on this condition especially as it relates to African-Caribbean people, especially women. Citing any authoritative research on this would be welcome. Many thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum! Whilst not being knowing of any specific research I know that those of Afro-Carribean descent are more at risk of high BP, Type II diabetes and stroke but it necessarily heart disease. Those of Asian descent have similar risks but also have a higher risk of heart disease. Here is an article you might find of interest:

Welcome to the forum Puffchloe.I also have high blood pressure but I don't know much more about specific risks for African Carribean people apart from what MichaelJH has said.When were you diagnosed and how are you getting on with the treatment.I got nearly all the side effects which are now starting to subside after eight months!Hope you get answers.
