Just a little question since Christmas is coming.
Can I drink alcohol while taking Carvedilol and Ramipril ? Not mentioned by Cardiologist or GP.
I also have breast cancer so something to cheer me along would be good..... !

The answer may well be yes! However, do run it past your GP who knows your medical history. If yes you should drink within the guidelines. This is because alcohol can react with BP medication to further reduce your BP potentially causing hypotension and fainting. Also it is best not to drink within two hours either side of taking your medication.
As my surgeon said "You cannot drink much so make sure it is good quality"!
Best advice you should take is your Doctor's. Not from anyone else. Let's hope he says you can in moderation, best wishes
My hubby has been taking both medications for years and he has a glass or two of wine without any consequences. Don’t rationalize the glass size - it’s 6oz!
Do check with your Doctor and don’t drink on an empty stomach.
Merry Christmas From Across The Pond
My husbands surgeon told him he could have a small glass of whisky if he fancied one - the conversation started as a joke but the surgeon said it was ok in small amounts, even in hospital!
Enjoy!
