My cardio nurse prescribed amlodipine and atorvastatin for my SVT and AF. I read on the statin insert that it must not be taken if on amlodipine so I have not taken any.
Does anyone here take these together?

I would suggest going back to your doctor before doing anything else. Even if someone says they do, I don't see how this actually helps you to decide what to do next.
Well done for actually reading those notes that come with all our pills - your query shows why we all need to before taking drugs. In the end we have the final responsibility.

Hi to be truthful I've never read the paperwork. I've been on both for some years and continued whilst being in Harefield following a cardiac arrest last year. Never told not to take them so continuing - good luck
Same here. I have done some very quick Googling and found a recommendation not to combine amlodipine and simvastatin but no specific advise about atorvastatin. See pulsetoday.co.uk/clinical/c...
I did find that an amlodipine plus atorvastatin combination tablet seems to be sold in the US, so the risk surely isn't sky high.
Paloma, ask a pharmacist or doctor if you are worried.
Thanks. I will take the statin at night as I take the amlodipine in the mornings.
I take amlodipine every evening at 9pm. I have never had any side affects from it. I used to take atoravastatin at 10pm except I experienced terrible muscle pain from it. My GP stopped that statin and replaced it with simvaststin and Ive never looked back. Both work very well together together. I hope that helps!
I was on these two together about two years before my bypass. Later on Amlodipine morphed to Diltiazem (another CCI). Then about a year before bypass this became Isosorbide Mononitrate. Throughout and to this day I take Atorvastatin.
Been on Amlodopine and Atorvastation since Dec. Chl dropped like a stone. No issues to date. Also taking Losartan.
