Hello everyone, I wonder if it would be possible to answer a couple of question please...
I’m
New to clopidogrel and think I have some side-effects: tinnitus, shoulder ache/pain on both sides along top leading to neck and waking in night with a sore stomach and the feeling I should get up and eat some toast - the stomach problem is the most concerning. I take clopidogrel about 5.30pm with my meal. Thanks for reading.

But your symptoms sound rather varied, to me, perhaps. It’s as if more than one thing is going on, but I’m no medic. I would go and discuss with your GP. They’ll unpick it for you.
Hi NorthantsSteve, thanks for your reply, my doc has today put me on Lansoprazole for the stomach aches/pains. Going to do some research on it first as I’ve read a little on some problems with some PPI’s inhibiting the action of Clopidogrel. Not on any other needs though, apart from copious amounts of Rene before bed and toast at 3am! Stomach and below much worse if I have a glass of wine though. Difficult not having a drink as I feel stressed out! Thanks.
I know what you mean about the wine although I’ve pretty much stopped it now. There is some bad press around PPIs but I took Lansoprazole for a year when I was on Ticagrelor (like Clopidogrel) and Aspirin and felt OK. I was glad to get off them when I stopped the Ticagrelor though. Try taking the Lansoprazole half an hour before you eat and then take the Clopidogrel with your food. Might help. Good luck.
Yes I had thought about that, good idea. I read about blood being thicker in the mornings and wondered if the half-life of clopidogrel being 6 hrs would be long enough as I currently take it at 5pm with food. The wine could then thin the blood later on!
I'm feeling great. Not fully mended but enjoying exercise, healthy diet and a more chilled out approach at work. And I think my heart is fitter than it was before the HA. Ideally I'd like to drop the meds but the side effects are manageable and they're doing their job. So I feel very lucky.
