One of my sons worked in the freezers in a large store, shifting lorry loads of frozen turkeys at xmas, etc . He used a set of Flexitog gloves to keep his hands warm. As a walker I find that a waterproof shell is essential to keep the wind from stealing all the warmth away and turning my hands into a not very fetching shade of grey.
