Does anyone else get busting for a wee after a tachy episode?

Hi guys, I had an IST episode today and went to urgent care just to get checked out. Weird question but does anyone else get busting for a wee after an episode?? Every episode I’ve had I’ve always been desperate for a wee after! Is there a reason why this could be? 😂

When I have an Svt attack and end up in A &E I pass gallons of wee, also when my heart is pounding.

Yes, quite normal!

This is due to the release of a natriuretic peptide which helps the heart to function better by reducing arterial pressure..by decreasing blood volume.

Yep, as per Jalia's reply - atrial natriuretic peptide, ANP. Phenomenon known to a-fibbers as "The Big Pee"

Yes loads, I always put it down to drinking loads of ice cold water which was my way of snapping my heart back into normal rhythm .

Thank you so much for answering a question I have asked medics for many years. I started with ectopics many years ago, then AF (causing TIA) and now VT and DCM (ICD implanted this May). I have always thought there's been a connection between heart problems and weeing a lot but always told no connection between the two. To at last know the reason has made a big difference to me...thank you all so much xx
