I get spells of A Fib nearly every day (from 20 mins to 6 hours). A new side effect that occurs after each episode is that the blood vessels in one eye burst and I go round looking like I've been 10 rounds with Mike Tyson! I've seen the optometrist who isn't concerned as it doesn't affect my sight (I'm relieved) , but is this a thing with others? and any tips how to deal with it?

A Fib, weird effects. Does this happen to anyone else?
Are you on blood thinners for afib?
It happens to me a little more on warfarin (though I'm on it for a mechanical valve rather than afib, so I'm probably not getting the same shock loading). I'm not aware of anything to be done about it.
I've had these spontaneous nuisance subconjunctival hemorrhages several times and have been advised to avoid aspirin or NSAIDs like ibuprofen&naproxen as much as possible. Those that have to take anticoagulants or daily aspirin can't do much about these hemorrhages but can be reassured that they're harmless.
Thanks for the replies. It's just nice to know I'm not alone. I was on 3 blood thinners up until Sept when I'm now just on Apixiban. Oddly the 'bleeds' only started after I stopped the other two blood thinners. I'm reassured that it's just something that looks odd rather than something that might affect my sight even though it is very uncomfortable after it bleeds. It's certainly an odd journey I've ended up on!
Cant understand that. I got AF last year and got chest pain in right side and elevated pulse rate. Now on Bisoprolol all fixed and no pain . Go back to your Doctor
