Pericarditis and Myocarditis Treatment

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone suffering specifically with Pericarditis and/or Myocarditis has ever been prescribed either Azathioprine or Anakinra and if you have did it cure your condition?

No but I have had multiple myocarditis episodes and am currently being tested for auto immune issues. Awaiting results.

I had Pericarditis this year, it started on 1st June with heart attack like symptoms, stayed on cardiac unit but later diagnosed with Pericarditis. It has flared up every month since with similar symptoms so was prescribed Colchicine. It seems to have helped it calm down, but now I have Costochondritis linked to my Fibromyalgia, so have stopped colchicine and gone onto NSAIDS. I wasn’t prescribed the drugs you mention at any point. Tests are still ongoing (CT & MRI to come).
