Had all procedures done would feel better if explained more and if all avenues had been explored

I'm not Michael but I am curious - which procedures have you been through so far? I empathise re not enough information given at point of use, it's the one and only (unvoiced) complaint I have - I know I'm a reasonably intelligent person able to do research but hearing in-depth from the horse's mouth would be helpful.
I don't complain as I know how stretched the NHS is, and on the occasion I've resorted to private care I find them nearly as over-stretched as the NHS. I appreciate they respect my intelligence but more guidance (even if it's something I already know or at least know how to find on my own) would be nice.
I have a friend 'down south' (Devon, I'm in NE Scotland) with non-smoker's lung cancer, consequences of repeated chemo and removal of lung lobes including COPD - when she was diagnosed with the cancer she was given a four inch thick three-ring loaded with information, and subsequently received similar binders with each new condition the cancer treatment brought on. Something like that for us hearties would be SO helpful!
