The vagus nerve controls much of the digestive system particularly movement of food, as it is broken down, through it. Some drugs and a variety of medical conditions can affect this. Do you have diabetes? This can occasionally cause a condition known as Gastroparesis which can cause reflux and nausea.
Thank you my friend no i dont have diabetes. What is happening i go through a stage of breathlessness and burping at the same time do a degree i go very ashen in colour .i have to get a good burb up and that can ease it a lot .Seems like they havent heard of this before .will keep trying to find out a remedy
The diabetes - has your HbA1c been checked to show your blood sugar stays in the normal range?
P.S. Did you get a foldable mobility scooter in the end?
Havent had that checked but will do
Still reasearching scooters .Was at centre parcs last week and hired a freerider scooter today c ontacted retailer who is going to send me brochers of different manufacturers. Also contaced quingo they seem very expensive. Looking at gum tree etc seem to be a lot of used scooters that when new were £ 5000 some of them about £1500 now
Unless you are going to get a converted estate/van to transport it you really need a folding one. Would this suit? livewelltoday.co.uk/dual-wh...
Hi there. I have had a similar experience. I started with breathlessness and similar gastric problems. They were treated separately with extreme fatigue, the common link being the vagus nerve. One theory put forward was that I contracted an infection during an ACL rebuild operation which can really mess with the autonomic nervous system. This was four years ago and there is still no explanation. I have learnt to adjust mu diet and cut out certain things. It's hit and miss but I now know that Pastry, sweet stuff, most alcohol (god has left me red wine thank goodness) and white bread to name most.
I think it's a managing situation rather than a cure - find the triggers.
My symptoms developed and led to a cardiac event, but that may not happen to you of course. They will not try to link them as they don't know the cause. Be patient and keep looking.
