Hi, I had a heart attack nearly two years ago . One stent was inserted, . I feel I have almost recovered. I take 3mg ramipril, 20mg atorvastatin, aspirin and 1.5 mg Bisoprolol. But lately I have stated to have panic attacks . First time at a airport while in a queue. Heart rate increases while I am standing still . This is happening more and more now . It’s always in the morning after I have taken my beta blocker and ace inhibitor .

I feel better after drinking lots of water. .

Can anyone help me.

Thanks.

Have you thought about taking them in the evening? Rampiril takes about 12-13 hours to be absorbed, not sure about the Bisoprolol.

Sounds like dehydration isn’t helping?

There could be so many reasons why two years on you're suddenly experiencing what you think are panic attacks and it's best to let your GP or cardiac team if you've not been discharged back to the GP yet have a look in to be sure it really is panic attacks.

Please update and let us know how you're getting on. I do have panic attacks but those came on quite soon after my multiple heart troubles went all bolshi on me - within a week or so of things going a bit pear-shaped I was having what the cardiac team quickly determined to be anxiety attacks (sounds nicer than 'panic', I'm grateful they call it anxiety instead of panic :) ).

I used to take my beta blocker at night to reduce the daytime side effects and to take advantage of the sleepiness side effect.

I had a HA - and subsequent CR - back in January. Over the past few weeks, I've started to suffer from panic attacks and flashbacks. My HA has been attributed to stress and my GP wants me to have counselling. (This was advised a week or so after the HA and I'm still awaiting a start date). I don't know why - after all these months - this has only just started.
