Took one lercandipidine Tuesday morning after seeing Dr , 2am this morning cough, extreme breathlessness and very uncomfortable chest pain . Saw My Dr who sent me to A&E and at last they agree with me its the meds. at one point my bp was 191/76 however just got home the have given me Atenenol and that brought it down to 137/70 which is a good result and to go straight back at any time if I have problems with this one,
I am feeling more easier now knowing that,
Also having further tests 😀

Lercanidapine is what is known as a Calcium Channel Inhibitor (CCI) whereas Atenolol is a beta blocker. Pre bypass I had two CCIs (at different times). Both were effective for angina but had side effects. When I came off each my BP remained constant! A minimum dose of Bisoprolol (beta blocker) dropped my BP. My last measurement was 101/51, maybe a tad low. Anyway looks good so far. A friend's wife has taken Atenolol for two decades with no issues.
