take a look at the above - I think it is pretty standard to see what is going on with the heart after a heart attack. I had one after mine and all my cardiac group did too.

Not letting me

Click for some reason but thank you for your reply ... I just didn’t know why they wait after the heart attack and not scan when it actually happens if u know what I mean because it’s been 2 months down the line

I was lucky to survive and my heart attack came with no warning - hadn;t been near a doctor for decades. I was scanned after 12 weeks as an "urgent case". The scanners are booked months in advance so there is always a difficulty in booking an appointment and there is a need for letting the heart settle down after a heart attack so they can see what has happened to it. Good luck - try to get the link to work - it would answer all your questions about what to expect in the scan.

I had Silant heart attack lost my voice had chest congestion dizzy felt sick and totally wasted.

Doctor and surgeon meet me at AE turns out I had sufferd arrhythmia of some description.

Did ecg at hospital All was ok enough to go home BUT did tell me it’s most definitely going to happen again.

I was sent fast track cardiology letter with appointment only for it to be cancelled .. clearly am not happy eather and was shocked AE did not even do X-ray

On 8 August am apost to be having holter like device fitted unless they cancel that too.

Guess it’s signs of times but even my GP was shocked never did X-ray especially after chest congestion.

Quite often an MRI is not carried out straight away to allow things to settle down. The stress of the MRI tunnel and the injected dye might not be appropriate. If they have serious worries they tend to fast track but you cannot fast track everyone. Sadly cardiolgy is severely ovetloaded.! :(

I went to my GP after 3 weeks of vomiting & diarrhoea. She sent me for a blood test (amongst other things), and got a phone call that evening, a few hours after the test, from a panicking out-of-hours doc shouting "YOU'RE HAVING A HEART ATTACK! YOU NEED TO BE IN HOSPITAL NOW!!!". Since I was happily sitting in a pub garden at the time, I politely said "Er, no I'm not, what are you talking about?" and declined his offer to get me an ambulance. Having discussed it with my friends, we decided it might be an idea to get it checked, so I wandered back into town, and got a bus to the nearest a&e, where I presented myself 45mins after the call and told them I'd had a strange call from a doc telling me my troponin was 153. They admitted me, and after numerous tests, 5 days later I had a stent, ie probably a month after the original (silent) nstemi.
