Rough feeling lines on skin 2 weeks post PCI for heart attack/STEMI

Mum has these. I wonder if they were from the doctor in the hospital sticking something on her skin when she had her heart attack? Or scratching it?

We are curious

She has so much soreness in that area. Left shoulder, back, under left arm. They did shock her heart into normal rhythmn so wonder if this is related.

After my surgery I had some left-over adhesive lines from the ECG monitor patches. The pads are about 40mm x 30mm, so the lines would be that or less. In my case they rubbed off in the shower, but not without some effort.

I returned to normal sinus rhythm immediately after surgery, though, so I have no experience with getting shocked.

I had them from the ECG monitor sticky pads.

Some are more sensitive to them than others.

Tried to wash the area with soap but it made it incredibly sore, felt & looked almost like a burn.

I had to use hand sanitizer gel to very gently remove the sticky pad residue, very gently washed with mild soap with cotton wool, & then applied sudocrem for a week or so to help heal.

ECG stickers for open heart surgery are on the back (along with larger adhesive patches to keep the wires from moving).

But you're right, Poorlymum's mum didn't have surgery, so that doesn't fit terribly well....

Possibly defibrillator when they shocked her.

Ecg tags sticky goop , they dont like my oily skin.

Alt was of fitting

It looks like the lateral. I know she had an inferior STEMI right ventricle and so is sore that side. Maybe the tube thing went to that area? Sticky marks must be from the shock pads in the photo

Might be worth phoning and speaking to a BHF nurse. Where you say soreness is can't be from ECG but may be from if they gave her heart a shock to get it into rhythm. But I am just guessing.

sounds like adhesive pad ‘tracks’. They can be usefully and relatively easily removed with alcohol wipes ( hospital has them or if your home they can be purchased over the counter in pharmacy)

If it was paddle marks from shock they are much larger and more like a burn
