Flavourless substitute for clopidogrel

It's got a medical smell and taste which can make difficult to take.

Asking for a friend.

The friend is my cat chloe who has heart failure. wr can get furosemide fown her, not easy. But not the old cloppy dog roll. We've tried disguising it with every form of food, but she's sussed what we are up to. Yes, we are taking her to the vet because she is still badly swollen, the furosemide isn't gaining much. But i though people here probably know more about this sort of medication than the vet

I am a dog person but cats are even more canny than cats as they eat more delicately! With our dog I give hime a "blank" piece of meat or fish first which he eats quickly then the "loaded" one which usually he gulps down before he realises. Of course preparations meed to take place when he's not in the room then follow it with another normal treat.

Giggling, but you're so right - dog or cat, they can't be in the room during meal prep or they will turn up their nose at the hidden surprise. Our Si-Abby (cat) approaches his bowl with obvious suspicion at the best of times but when I've had to try the hidden meds trick he is especially wary even if he hasn't been in the kitchen watching me make his tea (something he quite enjoys, that watching, he follows every move).

We've tried that too. Bit of bacon yum, bit of bacon yum, drugged bacon nope, bit of bacon yum.

If we crush it and hide it in the top layer of her food she would rather starve all day

Hi Inamoment, I get how difficult it is as I had a cat who was on thyroid meds for 6 years and then a ton of other meds towards the end of her life.

Ask the vet if there is any med that does the same job that comes in a skin gel. This can be rubbed inside the cat's ears - the human needs to wear plastic gloves to do this.

I feel your pain. Even our vet failed with a dog I had as a child!!!On the grounds that any anticoagulant is better than nothing sounds like a plan. Short of one guardian holding jaws open and the other using a blow pipe..........

Bit wary of the vet. Three months ago they said, heart failure, we give her a week, do you want us to put her down. Lucky i read this forum closely

Can it be given in liquid form? I've got a huge massive chihuahua!! He always wins the tablet fights, so where possible the vet give us medication in liquid form. Just needs a quick squirt straight down the throat before the dog is even aware of it!

I don't know about liquids, I'll ask that too

Hey, he thinks his huge & he's fearless in taking on rotties & gsd's. We've never wanted to upset him by telling him the truth!!
