Hello and welcome to the forum! I hope your angina is not to severe. Bisoprolol basically reduces blood pressure and also reduces the heart rate easing the strain of the heart. These can help prevent angina but if it does not a number of other drugs can be added. Nitrates are effective. One common one is isosorbide mononitrate. The CT scan will tell your doctors, and you, more.

I'm on Bisoprolol 1.25mg+300mg aspirin once daily, and have noticed a good result - WOOT, I can now walk down the shops without stopping to wait for the chest pain to ease off! I do get some angina pain if it is warmer than 22C/74F+humidity of higher than 70% (combination thermometer/hygrometer very much the cardiac patient's friend) but it is easily managed by keeping the temp and humidity indoors lower (love my dehumidifiers and oscillating fans!).

Everyone is different, and I've read several posts here on the forum saying results vary according to patient and dosage (which can take some time to work out best dosage).
