What meds are you on, and how has your diet and exercise changed (or not)?
Being immobile (no dog walking, social activities, isolation), older age, dietary habits . . comfort eating post-op, working all day at the desk,,,,,,,,,,,just maybe?
It's so easily done. No hard work needed!

If there are no underlying medical issues like a thyroid condition and are not taking something like a steroid it is probably a case of more calories in than calories out. Despite the occasional comment to the contrary none of the usual heart meds are known to cause weight gain. As said by @autumnsonnet it is probably worth reviewing diet and lifestyle. Good luck with the weight loss!
To be honest my job entails me to walk a lot around my place of work i have around 10000-15000 steps per day my diet has gotten better if I'm honest but my weight has gone up since i have left hospital
I would start keeping a diary of what you’re eating - if your weight is going up it really is more calories in than out. The walking as part of your job is better than a sedentary job, but you really need to build in proper exercise - 150 mins a week - which raises your heart rate enough to make you slightly breathless. Did you go to cardiac rehab? Another thing to watch is portion size, it’s all too easy to grow your appetite!
I’ve lost just over 2 stone since my heart attack in April, curtailed the takeaways and cakes. Stopped eating crisps, going on the side of low carbs, and lots of fruit and veg. Still allowing myself a little ‘treat’ each day - currently v low calorie ice lollies or low calorie ice cream (they’re flipping gorgeous!). There’s lots of swaps you can make, I can honestly say I haven’t found it difficult on the whole (still smarts that KFC is now history for me).
I have a thyroid issue, and even when it wasn’t treated it didn’t contribute to my weight gain. I know exactly how it got there!
Perhaps consider a whole food plant based diet. Whole foods are typically not calorie dense, and many who eat such a diet find it easier to lose or control weight, in addition to the likely benefit of improved cardiac health.
Statins, stress, and sleep deprivation all raise blood glucose levels which can trigger weight gain. Those whose blood sugar fluctuate all day tend to binge on convenience foods which are generally calorically dense and loaded with sugar.
