I was running my fingers through my hair, when I found a 50p size patch of shaved hair on the crown of my head. I have recently had OHS, and sort of remember the anaesthetist telling me he would be putting monitors on my head (I envisioned forehead), anyway it's trivial in the great scheme of things that have happened, just wondered if anyone else had noticed this. It feel all prickly, but a top layer of longer hair covers it up.
Also my hair in general is falling out in handfuls, it is all over my pillow case and in my hairbrush, anyone now if this is a side effect of any drug.?

Feeling good, just need to pick up my walking a little. Seems like my legs are a bit wobbly, and afraid to attempt any walk a little further from home.
I loss half the thickness of my hair post surgery and indeed posted about it on here. I looked into cause a of hair loss and qualified for at least five - major surgery , infection (I had endocarditis), diet (I lost 2stones whilst I was ill) stress, warfarin - not sure if you take this drug, oh and the menopause. Not sure if any of these fit your story. I mentioned the hair loss to the GP and she did a blood screen and all was ok.
My hairdresser cut my hair shorter than normal and advised using baby shampoo. The good news is that the hair loss gradually stopped and gradually it has returned to my normal thickness but with added white !
I did feel that hair loss was a final insult but luckily all is well now. Good luck to you and hope that the rest of your recovery is going well.
