Ha ha, very good.

Ah the weekend, now I've retired I see it in a different light. Used to look forward to it, but now I actually prefer the week as during the week I can go out for a walk over the National Trust common in Thurstaston and as everyone is in work there's just me, the birds and the rabbits

I only put the comment about the weekend as you cannot post a picture without putting in some text. Thank you for enquiring. The area is quite sore but I am feeling somewhat better in myself. I suspect I lost quite a bit of blood as the suction seemed reddish every time I glanced.

in reply to MichaelJH

Glad it's getting better. Still painful though I bet , sounds as though you've been in the Wars!

For some reason the film "Marathon Man" came to mind half way through!

in reply to MichaelJH

When I saw it, I was thinking something like that will happen to me one day lol. I don't have much luck. Born on Friday the 13th!!!

Oh please, don't go there. That film gave me nightmares. Never thought that Laurence Olivier would do that!

I've never seen the film...what did he do?????

Larry performs a bit of dental torture on Dustin Hoffman. I imagine that even people who would have expressed having no fears over dentists would be been wriggling in their seats while watching this

Well, now I wish I hadn't asked!!

There are some clips on YouTube but Zombies and Vampires prey on your mind less! 🧛

Err, thanks but Shaun of the Dead was enough for me 😱

Take two! I am retired now as I was made redundant less than three months after returning to work!

My sister worked 6:00 - 14:00, Sunday to Wednesday, for many years as it gave a good work/life balance!

I only retired the end of November 2018 and had a heart attack at the end of December - that definitely wasn't the plan!

Having said that, as a result of my detour to hospital I am really savouring no longer being part of the workforce

Retired is the Best Job I have ever had and I am Loving every minute of it, and conscious of the fact it's not something that every one achieves !!!

Very true, a few of my friends never got to see retirement, so yes I really do appreciate getting a second chance

in reply to SpiritoftheFloyd

Same here. I'm just glad I've got to the age I am now. Really don't know how I've managed it sometimes mind!

in reply to Prada47

Agree. The only thing I miss about Work is the people. Certainly not the Work!!!

At 71 I was in the last month of my contract when diagnosed with stable angina which rapidly became unstable leading to being bumped up the list for triple CABG. So, within 3 months I was gobsmacked to find I had a coronary issue and been operated on. Amazing. I sort of consider myself on a sabbatical but not putting pressure on myself when, if ever, I return to work. I’m not enjoying myself yet as I can’t do anything. When can I get on an exercise bike?

Lovely place to walk, SpiritoftheFloyd, with the birds for company, I hope there’s not too many seagulls though they seem to be exceptionally noisy at the moment & they seem to be a lot bigger! Must be the Wirral air 🤣

Hi Jean

Yes it is nice there. As there are so few people there during the week the rabbits and the hares are all over and it's quite easy to get quite close to them before they realise you're there.

Thankfully very few gulls up there as there's no bins and discarded food so there's nothing to interest them

My response to the cartoon was 'I am afraid we will have to re-boot your system by turning you off and plugging you back in again.

I sometimes suspect that blood clot is a virus that causes heart attack or stroke by chance. Is it caused by internet, I wonder

There should be more Posts on here like that Michael, I mean why wait till a Friday?? Give us all a bit of a 'lift'. Laughter is the best Medicine afterall! My opinion only, obviously!
