One guide recommend 8x8oz glasses pet day. You do not actually need to drink 8 glasses of pure water as there is water in tea, soup, and fruit and veg (even if cooked). This will increase if you drink more than a couple of cups of coffee (caffeine dehydrates) or more concentrated alcohol (beer is fine within guidelines). Hot weather also increase requirements. Bear this in mind as it warms up this week! 🌞

It is recommend to drink 2 tumbers of water in the morning first thing and a tumbler half hour before bed, this flushes toxins from the body and strangely it reduced my 3 times a night toilet visits to one and sometimes not at all.

I don't know that there is an optimal amount of water to consume to keep blood pressure stable. Excess water consumption increases blood pressure. There is water in food such as fruits and vegetables so you must consider that when you are drinking water. Your level of exercise also affects the amount you should drink.

In general if you exercise daily and eat a healthy Mediterranean Diet, avoiding processed foods, sugar and simple carbohydrates, then 4-8 glasses of water per day will provide you with the fluids you require.

You cannot control your blood pressure through water consumption. You must follow a healthy diet and lifestyle which will naturally lower your blood pressure to its natural level.

Optimally BP should be between 110/70 and 120/80.
