Hi invermill. I can't imagine why cruising would be any different from any other type of holiday. What are your actual concerns?

Thank you for responding, I suppose my main concern is being shocked while at sea.

I've never been on a cruise so I'm not the best informed. Bear in mind the ship will have medical staff on board, maybe make them aware at the beginning of your holiday. Many people with ICD's fly without any problems as I'm sure many go on cruises, but there are no medical staff on planes. There's a Facebook group called ICD-crtd support uk, that may be able to reassure you more.

Hello and welcome to the forum! I know someone who has an ICD fitted. Benefitting from an exceptionally good pension he, and his wife, go on holiday several times a year including cruising. The main thing is to make sure you are fully insured. There was a woman in the papers last year who was taken ill with a heart condition, had to be airlifted to shore and hospitalised. Being uninsured she got a very large bill!
