Is olive oil actually good for us, or just the least bad of available options?
Just had a very nice simple chicken salad (just chicken, lettuce, red pepper and watercress) and reached for the olive oil as a dressing that I didn’t really need. So is it a good thing or a bad thing?
Should stress that this is only the best virgin olive oil, cold pressed by elderly peasants, whose grandchildren hand picked the olives from south facing groves, before dawn, to the sound of goats gently bleating, each of which is individually named on the bottle. (At least , based on the price, it should have been).

Will olive oil reverse your heart disease? I very much doubt it. Furthermore olive oil is extremely calorific, so much so that quite a few people on Mediterranean or plant based diets are actually getting more of their calories from olive oil than from any other single item in their diet. So glug too much and you may become unhealthily overweight.
But on the other side of the coin, cold pressed, extra virgin olive oil is infinitely better for you than many alternatives.
Olive oil, for sure, has lots of good nutrients which are healthy and nesessary to our body.It contains large amounts of antioxidants and even may prevent a stroke.
