Hi. Just need some advice. My rosuvastatin has been increased from 20mg to 40mg because of high cholestrol levels. I was ok on the 20 mg but since moving up to 40mg I'm experiencing some muscle pain my legs and feet ache. Is this normal.

I'm waiting for a lipid clinic appointment but was hoping that taking 40 mg would mean no more hospital visits but the ache in my legs in painful.

Thanks

You need to talk to your GP about this. How long have you been on 40mg? It may settle down over a few weeks or (with you GP's consent) it may be worth trying 20mg twice daily. Let us know how it goes. Good luck!

Another thought is that maybe 30mg might work for you. There is not a 30mg tablet but you just need to take a 20mg and a 10mg tablet.

Take the statins but start eating Brazil nuts and you might be able to stop the statins (with your doctor’s agreement):
