Hi all. Had 2 stents inserted in RCA 4 weeks ago. Bit of advice required, woke up yesterday with gurgling stomach bit of acid reflux and feeling a little sickly. Stomach seems to be producing gas which I can feel passing through my chest which causes a little bit anxiety. This stops when having food. Woke up with exactly same this morning. Worth getting checked?

What medications are you on?
Hi Michael, lanzoprazol, bisoporol, prasugrel, aspirin, antirvastatin, ramipril.
Cheers
Dave
The lanzoprazol protects your stomach from excess acid (often brought on by other meds). Have a word with your GP you may need a higher dose if the acidity continues.
I've been having the same problems for over a week now. Was off work with the pain soon Thursday, sometimes I get fed up of fighting my symptoms. I'm trying to get in the docs because it's not going away. Hope your sorted soon.
Hi healthyheart1 as my H.A. started as severe Indigestion and acid I went to A&E yesterday to get checked. All tests came back fine troponin levels have plummeted since HA which gave me some encouragement and ECG now showing normal, xrays to ensure stents were ok also showing normal, they advised me to take gaviscon if I have any repeats as this was fine to take with my meds. Please check with your doc first though if it’s fine with yours.
I think a lot of my issues niggles and pains stem from my anxiety. It’s horrendous feeling. If I could get over the anxiety hurdle Im sure I would be fine 😩
Thanks and hope this helps

How did you know you were having a heart attack did you think it was indigestion?
Hi HH. Yes indeed I thought I just had bad indigestion but when I started sweating and felt full pain in left arm my wife called 111 who sent an ambulance immediately. I then got pains in neck and throat.
Very scary when you think I actually just wanted to go for a lie down until the pain went 😳
Dave
Do you take lanzoprazole first thing in the morning? Should be taken 30 minutes before breakfast. My tummy has improved since I changed to this as per my consultant’s advice.
I do indeed Maisie2014. Some days it seems to work others not so good. I have been advised by hospital to use gaviscon also.
I had my gall bladder out a few years back and I have a feeling it may have something to do with that. As the gall bladder is an excess acid pot without that pot I struggle on occasions if that makes sense.
Cheers for response
Dave
Hi, sorry to hear about the indigestion. I had similar symptoms after my stemi1 with tablets. I too had my gallbladder removed 2years ago. Cardio dr put me on Lansoprezol.
Long story short i believe it was the aspirin causing it. I now take gastro resistant aspirin, goodbye lansoprezol.
I have to buy them as the Scottish nhs don’t prescribe them now (cost) but ironically will pay for other dearer tummy tablets?! £1.30 a month only doesn’t bother me.
Hope it all settles down for you.
