Hi. I have been having angina symptoms on exertion and when stressed for about 9 months now along with palpitations at rest. I was referred by GP to Rapid Access Chest Pain clinic, have had chest x-ray, 2 resting ECGs and a Cardiac CT scan. After waiting 5 weeks for result of CT, I rang to chase and was told that my scan was fine - just showed slight furring of one artery that would not cause any symptoms - and that when my cardiac nurse returns from her holiday (!), she will write a letter to GP to advise them. So nothing wrong with my heart as far as they are concerned and I am in effect dismissed from their service. I have seen my first ECG report and it stated "Sinus rhythm with occasional premature ventricular complexes. Possible inferior infarct , age undetermined. Cannot rule anterior infarct, age undetermined. Abnormal ECG". I have no idea what the second ECG result was, but I believe that the cardiac specialist nurse I saw only looked at the second one. I have not been given a stress ECG, which I was expecting given that my symptoms are on exertion, so don't really understand the point of a resting one. My cholesterol level is fine. Do I just carry on with life & ignore the symptoms? They are usually only mild and not debilitating at all, but I just worry that it is a sign that something will go wrong in the future.
Any advice gratefully received!
