Valve replacement surgery

Hi folks was at the hospital on Friday getting an echocardiogram done and the technician told me that I would probably need it replaced. My head has been all over the place crying, worrying, scared, I need to see a cardiologist but petrified of what he will say and what questions do I ask..regards

I'm sorry to hear you probably need to have valve replacement surgery. It's a lot of information to take in so take your time processing it all.

I would recommend asking your cardiologist about the pros and cons of a mechanical or tissue valve as a starting point.

I had a valve replacement surgery (mitral valve) in January.

Thank you, I will be asking questions to the cardiologist. It was a bit of a shock over the weekend but being back at work is taking my mind of it a little. Hope your well after your surgery. Thanks again Cheers Ed x
