Panicking

I had and ECG last Monday and a full blood count as my heart has been racing recently. The nurse that did ECG said it all looks OK and popped into see the doctor who also said it look OK. She said blood results back in five days. But the next day the doctor himself phoned to go and see him about blood results, and then on Thursday receptionist phoned to say doctor wants to discuss ECG results with me, I'm now freaking out and quite scared especially given the fact that they both said it looked OK. Can they get it wrong?

Don’t freak yourself out. My doctor also contacted me directly a couple of days after ECG and bloods to arrange to discuss the results. But the discussion was just to say that they looked ok. Nothing more exciting than that.

(Caveat being doctor is a bit of an idiot and misread the ECG, I had to put him right a month later after I did a subject access request and saw it for myself!)

A positive spin would be that he had a better look later and has thought of something else. I like a thorough Dr!

There is no need to make assumptions and worry yourself. Go to see your doctor as soon as you can. They will either put your mind at rest or set you on the next stage of testing. If anything urgent needed to happen you would be in hospital by now. So relax!!

Thanks everyone. My appointment is this afternoon.

He did phone about my bloods the other day, a few things like iron is low (7) and folic acid high so we'll see.

Try not to worry as that can make it worse. When it happens try to relax and regulate your breathing. It may be a good idea to make a note of when it happens, how long it lasts and what you were doing at the time.. You may require a 24 hour ecg or one that is strapped on for a few days so they can get a more accurate picture of whats going on. Untill then try not to panic and relax as much as possible. Good luck

Sorry for an extremely late reply! as I just came across this post I'm having the same issue I had an ecg on Tuesday was told now this what we consider a normal ecg and then today get a message saying you need to book a routine appointment with a doctor to review your results of your ecg now I know it's nothing to worry about but it's just in my nature to worry lol I had one in June and they didn't want to discuss the results so that's why I'm like oh what do they want to talk about everything is normal won't be a very long appoint just tell me it's fine which I already know 😅🤔
