Its now 6 months since CRT D op and feeling amazing

HI All,

So I recently passed a big milestone in my recovery. On 2nd March it was 6 months since my last operation to get my CRT D implant in and working! Having had the lead fall out twice, both times within the 6 month window, you can imagine that I have been holding my breath.

I am now delighted that I have got passed this date, and I am feeling so much better too! I even sleep with just 1 pillow!! so all going great and for anyone who is due to have this op, I cant express enough how much this can alter your life for the better.

I am now relaxing about the device, and planning my future, I have booked a holiday to Majorca (the cruise idea didnt work out) however Majorca and Porta Pollensa are a home from home. A friend of mine is an air hostess on easy jet and she will be looking after me re the flight :-)

I have also booked a luxurious break in the Cotswolds in September, along with all of my meals, theatre and fun outings planned with my group.

For someone who has had HF for 24 years, and over the last 2 years has been diagnosed with Severe HF, I feel very lucky, that I am able to take advantage of the great technological inroads, and that my device is helping my heart to a point that I am back to enjoying life and having fun.

Happy Sunday Everyone x

Thanks Zena... I have had my dark days so I thought it important to also share the progress. And yes if I can help one person who is awaiting this op .. to help them feel that it will be all worth it ... then it's a good thing. Hope you are well too x

Great news, Karen! Hope your confidence in device #3 (did you name this one?) continues to grow. So glad it's having such a positive impact on your health - definitely a good decision not to give up after the first two experiences. Have fabulous holidays (plural!) when the time comes xxx

Hi Laura..thank you hun. Yes I did name this one ( Frankie) as in Frankenstein as its the voltage that keeps my little heart going. It's also a female Frankie when all is well ... and a male Frankie if it goes wrong

I am delighted to say me and the girl are making friends 😂 x

I am gaining in health all the time. And I am up to6000 steps daily.. and starting to edge up to 7000. I hope you are keeping well fellow crtder... and looking forward to your planned holiday too x

Aw thank you chappychap... I always feel that I should make the most of life after all the time and effort that the NHS has gone to.. to help me feel better. So I am now having fun. My consultant always says he is amazed at my PMA and that I am always laughing. I he thinks that's a lot of what keeps me going so strong lol. So here's to laughter 😁😁😁
