Coronary artery blockages

My wife has recently been diagnosed with having angina and was sent to the local heart Hospital rapid response unit where within 4 weeks had appointments and then an angiogram was done and the result said she had a blockage on the right artery and two small blockages in the left and they were unable to put a stent in and she was referred to a heart consultantthe appoint was postponed on Saturday last two days before we were due to be seen and have now got to wait another 6 weeks because Doctor being on holiday what we can’t understand is we now have no idea of what treatment she will get open heart surgery maybe ??? Just want to know , we have cancelled a golden wedding holiday to Mexico and recovered the cost via our insurance but we can’t go anywhere by air and just feel totally lost after the initial rapid treatment and tests to suddenly hit a brick wall any advice would be welcomed!

Hi my husband has lived with a totally blocked main artery for 21 years, the artery can't be unblocked & he can't have a by-pass. He's been treated with medication all these years & he's done OK. He does now have heart failure but that's due to damaged heart and nothing to do with the artery. He also suffers with unstable angina but again it's controlled with medication.

See my other reply on here. I had totally blocked arteries. I believe that my arteries are clearing out. The evidence? If my arteries were still blocked my BP would still be up. Blocked arteries is what caused the high BP.

Thanks for your reply. Luckily, my husband doesn't have high blood pressure in fact sometimes it's too low & he's cholesterol is below 3. Having had a massive heart attack that resulted in cardiac arrest, he really turned his life around with diet & exercise. Unfortunately, his heart failure is due to the amount of damage caused by the heart attack. I'm not really sure what more he can do.

I recommend that you watch the film "Forks Over Knives". It will show you that you can clear out your arteries. It is on Netflix, YouTube and a website of the same name. It is about medical dietary research, including a massive study of 800,000 Chinese people. You might find it helpful, I did.

In the film, there is a bloke with 27 diseases. After 6 months on a WFPB diet he was down to 1.

The ideal BP is 120/80. Mine has been as high as 240/140 but went down to 190/100 with treatment in 2016. I still had a mini-stroke in 2017 though. It is now 120/80. I keep a record and these are the averages, rounded up.

The ideal cholesterol is below 5. Mine was 6.5 for years, nothing budged it until this diet. It is now 3.7.

My weight was 14.5st and is now 12.5st, the same as when I was in my twenties.

Hi Valton17 this must be very frustrating for you. All I can say is that if it was serious then I would hope they would have kept your wife in hospital for treatment. I had a routine angiogram in March 18 and was told you're not going home and a week later I had a triple bypass. They said I was at serious risk of a heart attack. If your wife has any serious pain then I would go straight to A & E. Does she have a GTN spray? Has she used it? I was given one at my initial appointment at the chest pain clinic and have never used it. Best of luck when you get to see your cardiologist.

Many thanks she does have the spray and used it !!! We are just very frustrated as we don’t know whether it’s a CABG operation or something else they cannot put a stent in we were told after the angiogram so it’s the not knowing !!!!

How old is your wife? I was 52 at the time and was told at my cardio rehab sessions that bypasses are generally done on younger people, not sure why but may be as the recovery is easier. Not sure that makes any sense though

She’s 70 and is remission from Non Hodgkin lymphoma so this isn’t what we needed !!!!
