Hole in heart

Has anyone been diagnosed with a hole between the chambers of the heart? I was diagnosed after my heart attack and stent.

Was told we are all born with this but it usually closes up as we grow. They suggested a bubble echocardiogram but am

still waiting. Evidently they can close it with an umbrella in the same away they do the stents.

Having lived my life into my seventies with it I do wonder

if it’s necessay to fix it ?

Hi I have just been diagnosed at 57 with asd, bicuspid aortic valve and only two branches on the aorta. Having toe and bubble study on Tuesday. Then they will decide what to do? I am a bit on that I've made it this far. But as am breathless and had a fainting issue I guess it needs sorting. Still a bit scary though.

Regards Dee.

Sometimes hole in heart can cause TIA and stroke. If hole remains can become recurrent.
