Repeat Echocardiogram

Morning everyone. Off to my repeat echocardiogram this morning and feeling quite anxious. I still remain on watch and wait for surgery for aortic valve . Severe end of moderate 50 gradient. Went from 36 April 2017 to 50 April 2018. Rapid deterioration cardiologist said but suggested repeat echo December ( chased appointment and today is earliest they said) i presume I won't be told anything today. Am due to see cardiologist secretary said before end of January but had no appointment as yet.

I am (Hopefully) going to have my AVR on 24th January, having been diagnosed with a murmer 15 years ago. In reply to your worries about figures, 18 months ago my peak gradient was 64 and mean was 38 which was borderline for intervention. I and my cardiologist then decided to check with echo every 6 months and in June last year decided to refer for surgery in October when my peak gradient was 69. I have noticed a significant change sine then in, particularly, being able to chase my 2yr old grandchild round the garden so an glad to be having the AVR at last. hopefully you will have regular echo to check progress so no worries!
