I had an ablation a few years ago for supraventricular tachicardia, and it cured it, which was a great relief. it felt a bit odd when he was cauterising the heart but wasn't painful. As with most procedures, the worse part was waiting around to be taken for treatment!

Hello Trevor - I had an ablation 2 years ago today!

It wasn’t terribly pleasant especially as they had huge problems trying to access my artery in my groin but I think this is a genetic thing as the same thing happened to my father several years ago. Consequently it took much longer than it should. I also felt a lot of pain when they actually did the burning but it was fleeting and soon forgotten.

It took a few weeks for my heart to settle down afterwards but my atrial flutter has never returned so it was successful.

Good luck with your procedure.
