Has anyone ever suffered with atelectasis after open heart surgery?its 7 months since my surgery and they’ve just told me about it.

Yes, it's very common after a heart operation. I get the impression that almost everyone has this to some extent or another. That's why there's so much emphasis on daily brisk walks and breathing exercises immediately following surgery, the sooner and more vigorously this gets tackled after the operation the better.
