I am going to be getting tested for POTS at my GP surgery next week. I have Coronary Artery Spasms and have in the last 24 months developed tachycardia with no explanation. I have done some research and seem to fit the criteria for POTS. Seems to make perfect sense to me, POTS is lack of constriction of blood vessels and I am on drugs to dilate my vessels. I put my thoughts to GP and they have agreed to test me. My question is has anyone else been tested at GP surgery in a 20 minute appointment and what will they do? I know a tilt table test is usual but this would have to be in hospital. I would like to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks.

They will put you on a rack and stretch you until your joints burst, then brand you with white hot McDonald's logos and stick chilli paste up your bum....
Isn't the first rule of medicine "Do no harm"? Relax! They are not going to hurt you, they will look after you.
Hi Scottish I was diagnosed with POTS about 6 months ago. I was diagnosed after tilt table test. I really don’t know how they can test for it at gps unless it’s a very swanky practice. Having said that they wouldn’t say they could if they couldn’t. They’re looking for your heart rate to rise more than 30 points on standing without any exertion. As far as I remember I had bp checked on lying down, then standing for 3 mins before taking it again. Mines spiked to 170ish the 3 times I had it done and that’s when I went for tilt table. They could do that at gps. Anyway don’t stress it’s a dawdle ❤️shiona
