Hi, I have unstable angina but have never had that treatment. The main meds I'm on (other than for BP) are statins and 60m isisorbide mononitrate with GTN spray to be taken when necessary.

having had 2 x ablations and a pace maker fitted I am still getting pain. I have read the various reports and feel I have prinzmetal angina as all my pipes are clear and all should be right as rain but the pipes pumping the blood collapses go into spasme causing shortness of breath and chest pain . Can they replace the pipes?

Hi beach1336

I have lived with coronary vasospastic angina causing spasms in my small and large blood vessels for 7 years.

Microvascular angina and coronary artery spasms. ( vasospastic angina is the term now being used rather than Printzmetal angina).

The only available treatment is by medication.

I also from time to time also need to go into hospital for treatment with IV GTN and morphine.

Unfortunately stents or replacement of the blood vessels by surgery will not fix the problem.

This information from the BHF may help .
