Painful sternum

Hi everyone

I had a CABG nearly 3 months ago and continue to have a toe curling, burning pressure sensation in the top half of my sternum which is worse when I get out of bed first thing in the morning. Also I was able to sleep on my left side after my surgery but now not able to. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi , i did not have CABG but had the burning pressure sensation in the top half of my sternum like you first thing in the morning getting out of bed ,turned out to be Unstable Angina due to a blocked artery and had 2 stents fitted pretty quick

I would talk to your doctor about it. I had 4xCABGs years ago and I don't remember being in any pain 3 months after. I was still recovering but not in any pain.

You could call the BHF Heart Helpline on 0300 330 3311 and talk to a cardiac nurse about it.

Thank you for your comments and help. I was thinking about calling BHF so will do that as well.

Cheers 😊
