Hi,

I had my surgery to repair my Mitral valve Harefield Hospital in July at the same time two arteries were bypassed. During surgery, the Mitral valve ruptured when the blood flow was restored so a composite valve was fitted.

The questions I have are, I still feel tired, My hands are numb and cold, My sense of taste has been affected.

Has any of you experienced similar?

I would speak to your doctor, especially about your hands. The tiredness should start improving, it does take a while for the body to recover from such a big op, I had tired spells for about six months. Ditto the sense of taste, infact there are still a few things that I used to love eating, mainly biscuits, that I’ve now gone off as they just don’t taste the same, and I had my op last November.
